Little Mozart has discovered the piano!

This girl LOVES music.  She dances and claps to any kind of music, and really enjoys the piano.  Her favorite song is "Little Red Wagon" by Raffi.  She starts bumping up and down as soon as you start singing it!

As a fun giveaway to celebrate 200,000 hits, I want to hear about your favorite songs!  Simply leave a comment here, on Facebook, or through email sharing your favorite song, the name of the writer/band, and a short little statement about why you love it!  You can enter up to 3 songs!  Just post each entry separately, because I'll be numbering all of the entries and having Caleb choose a number.  Multiple songs in one comment will only be counted as one entry.

As a bonus, you get an extra entry if you link this giveaway to your own blog or Facebook page!  Just write in a comment that you did so.  (You can get an extra entry for each one if you put it on your blog and FB page!)  :)

All entries must be in by Sunday night at 7 p.m.  Caleb will choose a random number at that time, and I'll post the winner later that night!

The winner will receive several exciting Lock and Lock gifts, including a set of Hello Bebe food dishes, a set of EZ Lock round containers, a set of EZ Lock rectangular containers, and a cosmetic case. *  Woo hoo!!  :)

**  Please note that I am a Lock & Lock supporter and get these gifts as a thank you for blogging about the products.

I can't wait to hear some of your favorite songs!!

One of my favorite songs is by Karen Carpenter. It is "Sing a Song". When my grandaughter was born I used to sing it to her when putting her to sleep. As she got older, I would sing it during our special times playing together. Now that she is 7 years old, she sings it with me. It will always have special memories for both of us. Tric Gillette

"I will Praise Him Still" is by Fernando Ortega. I love this song because it says that no matter what comes my way, I will praise him still. This song has helped me a lot as I have come upon many challenges, but have remembered this song and how I need to praise him still because it is in his control!

Revelation Song is one of my favorite worship songs because of what the lyrics hold. Such power, and reminders of how Holy our God is! These lyrics say it best "with all creation I sing, praise to the King of Kings, you are MY everything, and I WILL adore you." how powerful is that?!

Cora--great choices! Those are both good songs!

Tric--I love that song! I even won a talent show once singing it. I think I was 8 or 9 and I did a song and dance. :)

Oh, I remember that talent show, LOL. :)
I have lots of favorites, depending on the day, but one is the version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo Ole', the guy from Hawaii. I love how he mixes Somewhere Over the Rainbow with What a Wonderful World. The latter is what Dad and I danced to at our wedding :)

Another favorite...
Garth Brooks' "The River"
It is a great song I discovered in college. I love the lyrics and they are good words to live by :)

There are so many good songs....here are a few more...
Garth Brooks--To Make You Feel My Love...a beautiful love song that Bruce introduced me to :) Also, Unanswered Prayers, again by Garth Brooks....the lyrics are really good and this is another one that Bruce first told me about. Of course, I need to mention Our God, because that song has such meaning for our family now. Thank you, Abs for giving it such a special meaning. :) I have lots more.....but this is my last post. :)

haha! That video was awesome! It made me laugh how Abby shakes her hand to say "hi" and "bye" what a funny girl! One of my favorite songs is "Beautiful Heartbreak" by Hilary Weeks. It is such a reminder to me of how everyone has something that has broken their hearts to pieces, but you don't know it by looking at them. If, like in the music video, everyone wore a sign that said what their heartache is, maybe we would all be a little kinder to those we encounter. But we don't wear signs, so be nice anyways!

Mindy Gledhill's song "Hourglass" is another favorite. It makes me think of my kids, and the precious time I have with them. Beautiful song.

Cerebrocostomandibular Syndrome

If you happen to pick up the latest Reader's Digest, there is an article in there about Piper Breinholt , a four year old with CCMS.  If you've been around here a while, you'll remember wayyyyyy back when we first received Abby's diagnosis that I was able to speak to Piper's mom, Reagan.  The article is more about their story and not as much about the ins and outs of CCMS, but I think it's probably enough to get some people googling it and I'm hoping a few will end up here. Every once in a while, I give a blog post the title of Cerebrocostomandibular Syndrome so that it would show up in Google.  My ever-present hope is that people will stumble across my blog and 1) be encouraged by the hope we have in Christ, 2) feel a connection with someone in a similar situation as them, or 3) get excited over the miracles that have been performed in Abby's life!!  (a combination of all 3 is great too!)  :)   Notice that it's not to get famous and it never wi

The Potty Man

Caleb LOVES to go potty! I have never heard a potty training story like this one....Caleb tells us when he needs to go, we take his diaper off, and he goes! Now, is it perfect? No, not at all! We aren't trying to potty train at at all, but we figure every time he goes is one less diaper we have to change! The only time we consistantly put him on the potty is when we give him a bath (he always pees in the tub, so we know he needs to go!) He almost always goes on the potty now instead of the tub though. When he's not "really" going potty, he's pretending to go potty! He's such a funny kid!

Lego Party: Favors

I'm a little slow in posting the Lego Party pictures, but I think I have a few excuses I could use.  At any rate, I wanted to share what I did for the party!  It will take a few posts, so stay with me.  I'll start with how I did the favors. These are the goody bags I made.  I just bought solid colored gift bags and matched scrapbook paper to each bag.  Then I punched circles and attached them with the 3D foam tape so that the circles were raised. I used the keychain (explained below) as a name tag on the outside. These are Duplo blocks.  I put a round magnet on the back and...voila!  A magnet!  (note:  hot glue doesn't work so well...I ended up reglueing them with my apoxy because the magnets fell off.) I made crayons using Lego man crayons.  Yes, I know this guy has lost half of his leg.  The others were already packaged and I didn't want to open one up just to get a picture.  I used a Lego mold  to make the crayons.  Caleb put small pieces of crayon in each m
