4 Random Pictures

My boy loves World War II.  This book is a pretty intense, high-level book.  He absolutely loves learning about each battle, examine the maps that show the invasions, and identifying the "good" guys and the "bad" guys.  He has a lot of questions, so it's a good thing that WWII is my favorite too! My van is in my garage for the first time in 3 years.  We got a beautiful storage shed, threw a lot of stuff away, took a lot of stuff to the thrift store, and loaded up the shed.  It's wonderful to have my van back in the garage!!! Abby got Lambie (from Doc McStuffins) a few weeks ago.  I think she's the new favorite.  She goes everywhere! This is the rough draft of a thankfulness book Caleb is working on in school.  He's such a sweet boy.   I'm thankful that he "gets" it!

A Little Pink to Brighten Your Day

My friend Joanna has been doctoring up some of my photos with her editing magic.  Fun, huh?!

Long Awaited Pictures!

All ready to go! Daddy and his girl She kept looking at us like she had no idea why we were so excited! I've been waiting a long time for her to wear this dress! Heading home!!  She slept the entire way! She opened her eyes as soon as we got home to see her new home. All settled in her new bed!

Wordless Wednesday

The King and the Knight

Caleb often calls himself the knight, protecting the king, queen, and princess from all evil.  Just wait until he sees the suit of armor, sword etc he is getting for Christmas! So isn't it fitting that in this picture, the king and the knight are holding the hand of the princess?  It's as if they're telling her, "We'll protect you, Princess Abby!"

Tiny Toes

Thanks to Katie for the tip about using flickr to upload pictures!!

To Whom it May Concern: Please Excuse My Absence

I'm sorry I haven't been around for a while!  Please allow me to explain: I was at the hospital all day with Abby on my birthday and there's no internet access there...not even for the staff!  Archaic?  Why, yes, yes, it is! Then Matt and I went to dinner with our good friends Jenn and Steven for my birthday.  By the time we got home, I was too tired to post. Plus, I had to get a good night's sleep for my first day "back" to work! So, Thursday I went to work.  No, I'm not really back.   We're all just taking it one day at a time and I'm working whenever I feel like I might be able to.  So I worked yesterday, and will work the two days before winter break.  After that, I'm not sure yet!  Nevertheless, it was really nice to be back into some kind of normalcy and I have definitely missed my kids! (And yes, we did work--hard--on rise and fall climax maps and analyzing characters!) I picked Caleb up and we high-tailed it back up ...

Photo Shoot

Now that Abby has a much bigger bed with lots more room, it's a little easier to take pictures of her.  I took the opportunity to do a bit of a photo shoot the other day.  It just so happened that her flowered blanket matched perfectly  with the striped blanket underneath of her!  My Aunt Sue (who is not really my aunt, but my cousin by marriage...since they are my parents' age, we always called them aunt and uncle...I was extremely confused when I learned who they really were at age 8!) made Abby a very cute quilt.  I think she liked it too! Doesn't she look like she is plotting something here?!  Seriously, this girl is a royal mess!   I am going to have my hands full in a few years when Caleb and Abby can work together...

Horray!

Turns out, there is wifi on the first floor that is working, not just the internet on the two computers.  I'd love to have it in my room, but this is good enough for me!  Now, for some lovely pictures of some lovely children: Caleb loves to "hold" Abby!  We never did get a picture of him smiling, but he really does love it!  I am one month old!  (November 22, 2010)  A family made three Build-a-Bears for us:  one for Caleb, one for Abby, and one for Caleb to give to an RMH friend.  He chose Baxter, and I think it was a good choice!  Here's Abby with her guardian angel and Baxter giving Caleb a big thank you hug for his bear! We took an afternoon to go to the Baltimore Zoo.  This looks more like Calvert County than Baltimore City!

I Would LOVE to Share New Pictures With You, But....

...the wifi is still not working at RMH.  They do have a computer station on the first floor that has working internet, but only 2 of the 4 computers work and there is usually a line to use them.  The hospital wifi works great, but Blogger and Facebook are blocked--remember?!  I have been posting from the first floor computer when I can get on (usually writing several posts at once and time-delaying them) but I can't load my pictures from here. I promise though: as soon as the wifi is up and working again, I have loads and loads of cute pictures of my Abby Girl to show you (as well as a few of the equally adorable Caleb Boy!) In other news:  I cannot WAIT to get the pictures back from the photographer who snapped pictures of our family in the NICU a few weeks ago.  I am expecting them sometime this week, and may just have to figure out some alternative way of  posting them if the internet is still not working.  I'm so excited to see them!!!!

The Most Beautiful Girl in the World

Sorry if you have other opinions...this is fact.  :) The thinker I'm tired just thinking about what they're going to do to me in a few hours... Her first doll--Sara would be proud! Semi-sucking her thumb She has taken to holding onto her pacifier. The only problem is that sometimes she accidentally pulls it out! You can finally see my beautiful girl's face sans tape!!!
