Life as a Leach

Almost as soon as we had entered Lego Land, we were stopped by a small group of women who noticed our Make a Wish shirts and wanted to introduce themselves.  They worked at Make a Wish there in Florida, and were at Lego Land to learn more about how things at the park work for their families.  Abby told them what her wish was, and one of the women exclaimed, "Wait!  Is that Abigail?!"  It turns out, she was Abby's wish granter there in Florida!  She had been working really hard to get Abby's wish granted so that she could be Elsa!!!   This was such a God moment!  What are the chances that we would meet the woman who was literally making Abby's dream come true?!?!  We were thrilled to be able to thank her in person.  It made our day!!

On our second day in Florida, we ate a delicious breakfast at Give Kids the World's dining hall.  They had kid-sized silver dollar waffles with all of the toppings you could want, and super good cinnamon rolls...Caleb helped himself to both!  After that, we headed out to Lego Land.   We had been here once before a year and a half ago, but the kids still loved it.  We got there right when the park opened and stayed until it closed!  If you've never been to Lego Land, they have statues everywhere built with Legos.  It's pretty incredible! Abby liked the Lego Friends area.  It was new since the last time we were here. Fighting Darth Maul... ...but smiling with Darth Vader! Caleb put one of his Minifigures on the horn :) This Christmas tree was HUGE and made entirely of Legos! Abby loved this Einstein model!  He was even the pressed penny she chose from Lego Land! Everywhere you turned, there were people, animals, and structures made out of legos.  It was pretty remarkable!  The kids loved climbing on them too! We were trying to get a good photo of all of the kids here...this was the best one we got, but Lucy is hiding, Abby isn't looking, and Anna isn't smiling.  It is what it is! I just loved this!! Abby and Anna thought he was real and kept sneaking up on him to wake him up. Life-sized camel! These minifigures were just Lucy's height and she loved them! Super cool mirror in the bathroom! This was Caleb's favorite part of the entire trip.  He absolutely loved Mini Land and could have stayed there all day if we hadn't dragged him away kicking and screaming encouraged him to get on some rides! New York City  They had a huge display of DC.  It was especially cool, since we knew what everything was. Caleb loved The Vietnam Memorial!  (It's his favorite memorial...doesn't everyone have a favorite?!) See the tiny Obama family?! There was a big Star Wars display.  Here is the ewoks' tree house that was Caleb's inspiration for his own tree house! Although I looked through it all much quicker than Caleb, I have to admit that it was pretty cool.  The amount of detail involved in these structures was incredible.  Caleb has decided that this is the exact job he wants when he grows up: he wants to design Mini Land for the various Lego Lands across the country.  :)
