Friday was Relay for Life, and it was a blast! Our team sold used books, homemade dog treats, and "I Walk For..." sashes. We also had a lollipop pull and Amy sold some hair clips. Matt took kids on rickshaw rides around the track for a donation, so we truly did a little bit of everything! There was no real theme, but it doesn't matter as long as we raise some money!! The books did alright, and people browsed through them right up until we started packing them up at 3:00 a.m. We just had a lot so it didn't look like we sold many. The dog treats went pretty well, but the sashes were a bust. Live and learn, I guess! The lollipops were GREAT! They were very cheap to purchase, and just about everyone gave $1 or more for each one. It was really great. I am definitely voting to do that one again, because it went really well. We didn't separate the money to figure out which thing sold the best, but I'm pretty sure it was the lollipops!
My mom got sick this year and couldn't come, so she asked my sister and I to do the caregivers' lap with my dad. I have to say that it was pretty emotional! Love, you, Dad!
I have to say that staying up all night was much tougher on me this year! I got home at 5 and slept hard until 3 p.m.! I went to bed for the night around 9:30 and have been tired again today. I'm hoping I'm now back to a normal sleep schedule. I've never had to work after Relay, so this could be interesting!
