UPDATE:
Several of my wonderful students brought in some Chipmunk toys for Caleb yesterday. We now have Simon (2, actually!), Theodore, and Brittany. Does he like them? Let's just say I had to limit him to choosing just one to sleep with last night! :)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yesterday, Caleb visited the dentist for the very first time. The dentist warned me that sometimes all they do is take the kids for a ride on the chair the first time. Not my boy! Nope, not only did he let them check his teeth, but they also polished them and applied fluoride! I was so proud of him.
His reward (in addition to picking out of the prize bin at the dentist's office) was the go to McDonald's to get a Happy Meal...but what he really wanted was the chipmunk that was IN the Happy Meal!! He talked about it all day and shared it with several people at the dentist.
We go through the drive through, he notices the chipmunk advertisement, he freaks out again over the excitement of it all, we get our food, we park, I pull out the toy...and it's a dinosaur. THEY DON'T HAVE ANYMORE CHIPMUNKS!!! Surprisingly, he didn't cry...but he did look really pitiful! When I apologized to him (although it obviously wasn't my fault!), he dejectedly replied, "That's okay, Mommy. I'm just sad." :( Sooooooo, if anyone has a chipmunk they got from a Happy Meal that they would like to give to a sad three year old, I will gladly take it off your hands!! :)
