We had our one and only decent snow of the season on the first full day of Spring! We got about 6 inches at our house and the kids enjoyed playing in it. The crazy thing is that most of it melted the next day!
Caleb finally got to try out his snow ball shooter that he got for Christmas!
It’s rather ironic to have them standing with my spring display in snow suits!!
Caleb loved sledding, but Abby preferred to just did in the snow.
Poor Chloe was ready for everyone to go back to school and work! Abby had too much time on her hands on Wednesday! 🤣
I have to say that Wednesday's snow day was such a gift. On Tuesday, our community of Southern Maryland was rocked by a school shooting in a neighboring county. We found out last night that one of the victims was being taken off life support. Her family gave a heart-breaking press conference from the hospital. You always think that would never happen here...until it does.
The day off from school gave everyone a chance to hug their babies a little bit tighter and consider what needs to be done to make our schools safer. There are lots of conversations going on in our community, and I think change is coming.
This morning as I entered one of my schools, an armed police officer was sitting in the lobby as an extra measure of protection. I signed in on the computer and doubled back to thank him for his service. Just knowing he was there made me feel a bit more secure. I won't lie though...my anxiety was through the roof today after two threats were made at local high schools. It is a crazy world we live in and I'm thankful for a God that hears our prayers and calms our fears.
