Life as a Leach

We went to two different Fall Festivals--one at Caleb's school and one at our church--so I combined the photos to share the dressing up fun with you! Barbara and Carter were in town for the school festival. Matt and Abby were Hello Kitty and her twin sister Mimmy.  :) Hello Kitty! Captain Rex, the head of the Clone Troopers! Caleb decorated a pumpkin at our church. Abby thought Caleb was pretty funny... ...until he put the mask down.  Then she was outta there! The church had a huge race track to drive remote control cars around.  Caleb LOVED it!! Matt did too.  :) Just a few pictures from a fun Halloween!

I had a rare day at home with my girl--no therapy, no doctors' appointments, no insurance meetings!  We had a great time playing outside!

What an amazing weekend we had at the Ronald McDonald House 30th Anniversary Gala!  I have many tales to tell, but for now, here is a little glimpse:

I'm sorry for the lack of posting!  Between the hurricane, entertaining children stuck inside for three days, Halloween, and packing for our weekend away, it's been put on the back burner! Tomorrow is the big day--the 30th Anniversary Gala for the Ronald McDonald House of Baltimore!  We're very excited to be speaking and have been practicing our script for a couple of weeks now.  We are staying in Baltimore for the weekend because of rehearsals tonight and tomorrow morning. We've all got our fancy outfits to wear, and I took the opportunity to get a very fun new hair cut and use a gift card to get my nails done.  (By the way, having a man  do your nails while he is munching on some kind of seed/nut thing and lacing his fingers through yours while only speaking to you in Korean is in no way relaxing.  It was one of the most awkward experiences of my life.) They're my favorite!

A lot of the decorations were bought at Walmart, where they have an awesome selection of Hello Kitty party supplies! The tooth picks were originally for cupcake toppers, but I decided to do the cookie cake instead.  They worked just fine for veggies, fruit, and cheese! We had raspberry lemonade in pink cups with umbrellas and straws--very girly!  I also had bottles of water and Capri Sun Roaring Waters. This is the Hello Kitty cake, because Kitty makes sugar cookies on every episode.  It was a big, yummy hit--and SO easy!! The lollipop arrangement was popular too.  Some snuck a few without their parents looking! A few more sweet treats We had Hello Kitty goody bags too!  (Caleb had me make superhero bags for the boys, who he did not feel would appreciate such girly favors.) As far as activities, we had a bean bin, "Kitty Litter" (packing peanuts in a baby pool), Lego Duplos, coloring, and necklace making. ...
