Welcome, Fall!

Jumpin'

Matt was doing yard work when the kids got off the bus.  You know what that means!!

Fall Fun Photo Dump

We had a fun last Sunday afternoon at a local pumpkin patch! We took a hayride down to the pumpkin patch! When we structure it carefully, Abby can even jump in the moon bounce!  Thankfully, people are usually understanding. I've taken to just saying she has something similar to Brittle Bones Disease.  It's just easier...and the level of caution is the same! Abby absolutely loved this cow! They had a big blow-up slide that Caleb enjoyed! Such an odd sheep! I loved how these pigs were sleeping together! The kids wanted nothing to do with the corn maze this year, and my back wasn't arguing either.  So we got some treats and called it a day! I totally didn't even think about pumpkin pictures, but I will get them as soon as we carve them.

Pumpkin Carving

We carved pumpkins with Emily and the kids!  We had a good system going:  Matt dug out the pumpkins while we sifted through to pull out the seeds.  Later, I washed and roasted them...yum! Then we started in on the actual carving and decorating.  Emily was a big help with this!  She is so good with the kids. Caleb drew his and carved some of it.  Matt helped too.  Pretty fun! Abby wanted Elsa.  (shocker!)  I printed off a template and did my best...it looked better the further away you were.  Close up, the general consensus was that she looked more like Ursula from The Little Mermaid.  :o/ Emily's mom sent some very cute decorations, so we used them for our third pumpkin.  The kids had a lot of fun decorating this one! Cuteness!

Fall Fun!

Recently, we went to a local pumpkin patch with our dear friends for some fall fun! We went through the corn maize, allowing each child to take turns leading.  We also learned that Caleb...and Matt...have a hard time letting other people take charge in leading.  I think they were afraid of getting lost.  Abby definitely has my sense of direction! We played in the corn pit, which was a huge hit with all of the kids! The two little ones (just 5 months apart and in the same Mom's Morning Out class!) loved the hayride! I finally convinced Abby to ride the barrel train by riding with her.  It was just a little crowded! They all loved the playground and big drain pipe slide.  I was pleasantly surprised at how many times Abby went down the slide by herself! Each of the kids picked out a pumpkin...a big decision, to be sure! One of the last things we did was play in the hay pit, which was a big hit. ...
