Over the last few days, we said goodbye to our three nurses who have been with us for quite some time and love Abby. It was bittersweet, because while we are thrilled to be on our own again, we will miss these sweet women.
Life without nursing has been wonderful so far, and we haven't had any problems with Abby's nighttime routines so far. We rotate every other night with getting up with her feed, and it's been fine. Caleb is loving the family time. I didn't realize how much that affected him.
I took my first trip to Baltimore with Abby solo yesterday, and she did pretty well. I left very early so that I could make a few stops along the way (I'm on the hunt for a suit for Caleb!), which she definitely needed. I did have to pull over once on 97 on the way back because Abby decided that she didn't want her shoes on, couldn't get them off herself, and just couldn't get past it. But, I never felt an urge to pop in one of the "just in case" movies I brought with me, so that was good! Tomorrow is an early GI appointment, so I'm not sure how many stops I will be able to make. That will be the true test!
We have two extra kids for a couple of days this week as we host two boys from Children of the World. They are 10 and 8, and ALL boy! Caleb is loving having playmates, and they are having a great time playing with all of the toys. They had their first taste of chocolate pudding last night. Although they were a little unsure at first, they decided that they loved it!
They are putting on a concert tonight at our church, and I know that they will encourage you and make you smile if you come! It's from 7-8, if you are local!
